Mt. Constitution Loop

Mt Constitution Loop | Hike the PNW
About a month ago I spent the weekend on Orcas Island with my fiance and four of our friends for a little pre-birthday celebration. We secured a HUGE lakefront camping spot back in January for the Southend Loop in Moran State Park. The South loop is beautiful – highly recommend if you want beach access or just to look at the pretty lake (but make those reservations early!). During the day Saturday we made our way over to the Mt. Constitution Loop trailhead, which yes you can just drive up to the top of Mt. Constitution if hiking isn’t your thing. We chose to hike and it was a beautiful day, contrary to what our foggy camp looked like in the morning. The trail starts at the bottom of Mountain Lake and goes straight up the first part. I kind of like getting my elevation out of the way so that the rest of the trail is smooth sailing. Pretty close to the top we stopped at a rustic lookout of Mountain Lake (pictured above) before reaching the tippy top of Mt. Constitution. I sadly didn’t snap any pictures at the top – combination of exhaustion, very foggy view and focusing on eating my lunch.  Moran State Park | Hike the PNWbeachThe most adorable (and delicious) new bakery in town, (Brown Bear Bakery on Main Street & North Beach Road). Brown Bear Bakery | Orcas IslandSome found type while waiting for the ferry home.found-type ferriesDistance: 6.7 miles
